State senators file opposing resolutions on "Don't Ask Don't Tell"
Two Missouri State senators are " locking horns " over don't ask don't tell and both are sponsoring non binding resolutions. Following a resolution by the Kansas City Council decrying the policy, Kansas City's Jolie Justus has sponsored a resolution calling for the federal government to repeal it. Justus says the policy is grossly unfair, because thousands of servicemen and women have been discharged under the mandate, many for activities off duty and off base. Justus says with two wars we need to keep the military strong. Senator Bill Stouffer of Lafayette County says just the opposite, his resolution urges the feds to leave things as they are. Both proposals are expected to be debated in committee tomorrow.
