KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Aviation firm Executive Beechcraft has sued
Kansas City for creating a competing terminal project at the Wheeler
Downtown Airport.
The Kansas City Star reported Friday that the lawsuit, filed Tuesday
in Jackson County Court, claims the city failed to tell Executive
Beechcraft's owner about the competing project.
Executive Beechcraft operates the airport's largest terminal on
property leased from the city. The lawsuit says BBA U.S. Holdings
Inc., which bought Executive Beechcraft in 2007, would have paid less
if it had known it would not be the only executive terminal at the
airport.
The $20 million project will include three hangars for corporate
jets on 10 acres at the airport. City officials say they disagree
with the company's claims.
