Kansas City's new city manager Troy Schulte says despite the
political firestorm at city hall yesterday he's already hit the
ground running. Schulte was named acting city manager after Wayne
Cauthen was suspended by Mayor Mark Funkhouser.
His appointment is for a minimum of six months, and Schulte says he
will serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council. He also says he
would return to his former post of budget officer if so requested.
Schulte says the biggest item on his plate is to maintain city
services at their current levels, despite next year's projected
60-million dollar shortfall.
