Following the attack on Ft. Hood, Texas we're looking into security at another military base that's a little closer to home.
In a statement to the public, officials at Fort Leavenworth say they take the safety of their soldiers very seriously and that due to security they will not specify how they plan to adjust security at the base to address any threat posed in similar fashion to that of the threat posed yesterday at Ft. Hood.
One Leavenworth woman who spoke with KMBZ says she just moved from Ft. Hood, Texas and knows one of the soldiers who was wounded in the attack.
She says her friend is furious and wants out of the military. She says she can't beleive what happened, that she used to be able to walk the streets of Fort Hood without concern and that after the attack she's scared to even be on base at Fort Leavenworth despite the fact she's lived on military bases her entire life.
