The Kansas City, Missouri Water Department and the Missouri
Department of Natural Resources are reporting that a sewer overflow
at 1300 E 85th St discharged about 870 gallons of wastewater into a
tributary that runs into the Blue River. Officials say the city's
drinking water supply is not affected. The overflow, which was
discovered and corrected this week, happened because of debris that
had collected in the sewer system. Authorities say the area is
inspected and cleaned each week
