An overland park patrolman was in the middle of a traffic stop last night when tragedy struck in the most unexpected of ways. A motorcyclist who rear-ended the officer's car yesterday evening died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol says at around 7-30 last night, 27-year-old Jason Chronister of Overland Park was on a motorcycle, southbound in the left lane on Blue Valley Parkway over 69 highway, when he hit an Overland Park police car that was in the left lane. Chronister was pronounced dead at a local hospital a few hours later. The police car was legally parked with its emergency lights on. Chronister was wearing a helmet.
