Pastor Thomas Hamilton, of Stony Point Baptist Church in KCK, says he feels betrayed. Michael Joy, a church youth volunteer, is now jailed in Wyandotte County for indecent solicitation of a child. Parents of the alleged victim contacted Hamilton, who after talking to Joy, called the police. Hamilton checked Joy's background, but says he found nothing. The sexual predator list only goes back about 15 years. The Kansas Department of Corrections Web site shows Joy was convicted of eight counts of molesting children in the late 1980s and spent more than eight years in prison.
