Commuter Rail Could be Headed to KC

Jackson County's Executive is reaching out to Washington to find stimulus money for a billion-dollar proposal. The idea is to bring commuter rail to the Kansas City metro and Executive Mike Sanders tells KMBZ that Kansas City has been short-changed on stimulus funds compared to other cities. Sanders says the plan would bring commuter rail to Jackson, Platte, Clay, and Wyandotte counties. The price tag is just over $1-billion. The plan would use passenger trains as opposed to light rail and the number one priority would be to get people to and from work.
