Johnson County Sheriff's Deputies are putting the final touches on
their new jail and plan to start bringing in inmates next month.
Captain Wayne Rector -- with the Sherrif's Department -- tells KMBZ
they are still finishing up some minor construction at the building
north of Gardner. He says the first group of inmates that will
transfer out of the Olathe jail will be the maximum-security
prisoners. It won't be until early next year that they will pull
prisoners out of other jails across the country. Johnson County has
had to "farm out" prisoners for years because of over-population.
