What’s legal…What’s not…
 
Bonner Springs: Sales only permitted between July 1 and July 4. Discharge only permitted between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 3 and 4.

De Soto: Fireworks – except for bottle rockets – legal on private property on July 3 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or July 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Eudora: Fireworks legal on private property.

Gardner: No Fireworks Allowed within Gardner City Limits

Kansas City, Kansas: Fireworks – except for bottle rockets and sky rockets – are legal. Fines for use of illegal fireworks are not less than $500, nor more than $1,500 or 90 days in jail, or both.

Lawrence: Fireworks are illegal within Lawrence city limits.

Leavenworth: Fireworks, except for smoke balls, sparklers, snakes, champagne bottle poppers and toy paper caps, are illegal in the city of Leavenworth.

Leawood: No fireworks may be sold, used or possessed in the city of Leawood, Kansas.

Lenexa: Use of novelty items, such as sparklers, caps, smoke bombs and snakes are allowed. The possession or discharge of all fireworks other than novelty items is illegal within Lenexa city limits, including all parks and common spaces.

Olathe: The sale, use or possession of all fireworks is prohibited in Olathe.

Overland Park: The use, possession and sale of fireworks is illegal inside the city limits of Overland Park.

Prairie Village: Fireworks are prohibited

Shawnee: All fireworks are illegal in the city of Shawnee with the exception of snakes and caps.
 



Missouri

Belton: Approved fireworks – anything except bottle rockets, sky rockets, roman candles and anything labeled 1.4G – may be discharged from 8:00 am through 10:30 pm daily from June 28th through the 4th of July. No fireworks may be discharged until noon on Sunday.

Blue Springs
: Fireworks – except for bottle rockets, sky rockets, and anything else that flies into the air and will not burn up on landing – are legal from July 1 at 10 a.m. to July 3 at 11 p.m., and on July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks must stay on private property. Violators will be fined at least $25 up to $150 or prison time.

Gladstone: All fireworks except for caps are illegal.

Grandview: Fireworks are strictly prohibited in Grandview.

Independence: In January the City Council approved an ordinance allowing anyone 16 and older to use and/or possess consumer grade fireworks between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. from Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5; and from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, July 4. Fireworks can be sold beginning Tuesday, June 23 until noon Sunday, July 5.

Kansas City, Mo: Fireworks are illegal in KCMO city limits. The fine is up to $500 and possible jail time.

Lee's Summit: Fireworks of 1.4G "consumer grade" fireworks are legal. Bottle rockets, romand candles, other rockets and fireworks which fire flaming balls are not permitted. Fireworks can only be discharged with a permit on July 2 and 3 between 10a.m. and 11 p.m. and on July 4 between 10 a.m. and midnight. Obtain a permit at City Hall by calling 816-969-1000.

Liberty
: Non-aerial fireworks are pemitted from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 3 and July 4. Aerial fireworks are only lawful on tracts of land 3 acres or larger. Aerial fireworks are those which are intended to fly over 6 feet in height.

Raymore:
Fireworks may only be discharged on the following dates: July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., and July 4th from 10 a.m. until midnight.
It is unlawful to discharge fireworks in any business district, street, park, or any other public property in the city limits of Raymore.

Raytown
: Fireworks are prohibited.
