Well, they might leave out the swimsuit competition, but nearly a hundred "senior" women in Kansas City will be competing for a beauty pageant crown and the title of Ms. Nursing Home Kansas City. Missouri Health Care Association's Shauna Scheidegger tells KMBZ the pageant winner gets to live the good life getting out of the nursing home to go to parties, speeches and parades. She gets bragging rights and the honor of a pageant queen. Contestants are judged on personality, life activities, participation in nursing home events and overall attitude toward life. The winner will move on to the Missouri state competition in August.
