Emergency crews closed northbound I-35 between Independence Avenue and Admiral Boulevard this morning after a fatal hit-and-run involving a bicyclist.
Authorities reported the byciclist was hit around 4:30am, forcing closure of parts of a major metro thouroughfare.
KMBZ's Jeff Bell reported that a truck driver returned to the scene and said he may have been involved in the accident. Officers are continuing to investigate.
The interstate reopened by 6:30 a.m. but traffic was expected to be backed up for some time.
