And from the annual meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, men are more likely to develop noise-induced hearing loss. Researchers examined the records of over 5000 people who had their hearing tested as reported in a governmental survey. They found that 13% of those tested suffered from noise-induced hearing loss, and that men were nearly 3 times as likely to be diagnosed, particularly married white men. It is possible that this demographic also sought more testing, which could artificially bias the statistic – that is to say that ENTs have said a high percentage of wives send their husbands to have their hearing tested because they don’t seem to be hearing them as well as they should.
If you were there, you know the final stage of the Tour of Missouri was a big hit in Kansas City.
Turns out, it was a big hit for the state too.
