The U.S. Attorney's office says it was a sexual assault scam. 39
year old Julie Bernet of Bucyrus, Kansas and 33 year old Gordon Reabe
of Lee's Summit are charged with wire fraud.
Bernet and another woman allegedly hired Reabe, to sexually assault
them for money. They had filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against
their former employer Mercedes Benz of Kansas City.
Investigators say the plan was to increase the settlement. Captain
Mark Folsom of the Kansas City Police department says this is one of
the most bizarre cases he's ever worked, adding it's sad to work so
hard on something that's a lie.
Court documents say that Reabe would have been paid 100-thousand
dollars if the settlement exceeded
one and a half million dollars . Investigators say the attack
occurred last November at the Waldo area home owned by one of the
women.
