Investigators are trying to figure out how 1100 phony $100 chips passed through the casino unnoticed until recently.
The Kansas City Star reports that a cashier noticed the phony chips when they wouldn't fit properly into storage racks. The fake chips are a little bit thicker than the casino's chips.
A suspected patron was arrested last Tuesday, and after that, the casino took all $100 chips out of play, and replaced them with back-up inventory.
The casino lost $100,000 in the scheme.
