KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Missouri Ethics Commission says Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser's will pay the agency $1,000 as part of a negotiated settlement over a campaign violation. Funkhouser was elected in March 2007. He said in a written statement Tuesday he would pay the $1,000 personally. He also said the commission "confirmed no misuse of funds'' and the fine was a result of what he called a "minor technical issue.'' The commission found that Funkhouser's campaign erred by having five checks totaling about $3,400 signed by someone other than the campaign's treasurer.
