(TRIPOLI, Libya) -- Seven people were killed on Sunday when a suicide bomb went off at a security checkpoint near Benghazi, Libya.
BBC News reports that the attack is the first suicide bombing in Libya since the fall of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The attack occurred in the village of Aguiria. Reports say eight people were wounded, a figure that includes soldiers and civilians.
The bomb was hidden in a truck, BBC News says. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
