Off. Gary Michael was shot during a traffic stop Sunday

The body of Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael was returned home Wednesday morning from Kansas City.

Officers from more than 60  Missouri and Kansas law enforcement agencies escorted the remains from the Jackson County medical examiner's office after his organs were donated.

Officer Michael was shot to death during a traffic stop Sunday. 

A candlelight vigil was scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry County Courthouse. 

A public visitation will be held for Officer Gary Michael on Friday, August 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton. A second public visitation will be held Saturday, August 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Benson Convention Center. 

Officer Michael's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
