The managing director of Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate hosted a standing-room-only crowd Monday night for a town hall meeting about plans to renovate Kansas City International Airport.

The meeting was held at KCPD's South Patrol building.

Edgemoor executive Geoffrey Stricker told the audience that the one terminal design for KCI would be traveler friendly.

"It's more convenient with splitting of departures and arrivals, so that instantly half the traffic is on one level, half the traffic is on another level, which should make it easier and safer for folks either coming to pick up or drop off people," Stricker said.

Meetings will continue in December if Kansas City voters approve the plan November 7, Stricker said. The design, he said, would be fine-tuned, using public input.

Stricker said the one terminal plan would be safer than the current configuration, and so far feedback in community meetings has been positive
