Blue Springs, MO - The police department has released video surveillance in an attempt to find the person who spray painted racially-charged words on the storefront of the Turn-N-Headz Barber Shop in Blue Springs on May 10th.

“There is someone out there that knows something and I call on them to step forward and say something,” said Mayor Carson Ross.  “This manifestation of racial hatred is a cowardly act.  Although it has been rare in the 43 years my family has lived in Blue Springs – no community is exempt from ill-willed people doing unacceptable things.  It is not welcome in Blue Springs and we will meet it head on.”

Blue Springs Police Department were called out on a property damage call on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 and discovered racially-charged messages spray painted on the windows of Turn-N-Headz Barber Shop.

“We are asking for people to look at video and still images and let us know if they recognize this person of interest or if they have heard anything about this crime,” said Blue Springs Police Department Lieutenant Kingsolver. “The images we received off a neighboring surveillance camera are not conclusive – without help, the assailant in this crime cannot be brought to justice.”

Officers are asking that if you know something related to this crime, please call 816-228-0151 or report your tip anonymously through the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or @KCCrimeStop.
