It was a job most people complained about, but nobody wanted...until now. KMBZ's Nichole Teich has more on the sudden interest in becoming a Kansas City Missouri School Board Member. No one knows why it's suddenly all the rage... but RSVP's for tomorrow's school board school..are through the roof. So much so the district is scrambling to find a larger venue. According to The Kansas City Star, so far 100 people have reserved a spot to learn more about running for a seat. In the past two elections, only one board member arrived through contested election. That was a write in candidate because no one was even running when ballots were printed. The District has faced it's share of challenges, from low test scores to high Superintendent turn-over. The board has been blamed for many of those problems in the past.
