If Ellen Schenk had taken her mother's advice, she would have followed in Laura Bush's footsteps. Not former first lady, but a major in Library Science. Instead, Ellen's questionable common sense led her to a degree in communications from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She's been a disc jockey, talk show host, saw a promising career as a traffic reporter cut short because of a delicate stomach and for more than a decade, has been the co-host of Kansas City's Morning News. Ellen lives in Lee's Summit with her husband Kevin and their furry children: two dogs, a cat and a horse.
